“ Try the fajitas. Fresh peppers with onions and the mixed (beef, chicken, shrimp) or shrimp is good. This gives me a pickup on depressingly long work shifts nearby. The lady that answers the phone is always sweet and sometimes they can deliver and walk it over, thank you. ”
“ Authentic Mexican food, don’t be discouraged by the looks of the outside, this restaurant is cozy on the inside. The plate presentation is great, we had the asada tacos, al pastor tacos, shredded beef taco and the aguachiles. The shrimp in the aguachiles tasted like it was freshly caught. The rice and beans were impeccable and the horchata was flavored just right. The owner Rodrigo was kind and attentive. ”
“ We visited during our Los Angeles trip October 2022. This restaurant was one of the places we really wanted to go because we read so many great reviews. The place is quite low key from the outside and inside it was quite homey. Our waitress was the best, telling us a bit of the restaurant's history. The food is as good as everyone says! ”
“ Been on a really long road trip from Texas. Have been to countless restaurants along the west coast. This was definitely one of our favorites! My wife said it’s the best Mexican food she has had since she lived in El Paso. She had the beef taquitos and loved them. The waitress Navit was very friendly and provided great service. I had the hard shell beef tacos and the sopes. Really good with the green and red salsa’s that they provided. We also ordered the cucumber lemonade and the horchata! So good! Went to a fancy Mexican restaurant in LA that didn’t even compare to El Patroncito. This place is authentic. We were staying next to the Staples center and decided to go here on a whim. So glad we did! ”
“ Excellent food, couldn't recommend more. I have had lots of Mexican food in Los Angeles, and to stand out in downtown LA is a challenge. Give this place a try. Ceviche appetizers are fresh and refreshing -- meals are generous portions. ”
“ Authentic Mexican! Absolutely loved the mole and all of the staff was incredibly sweet. My advice would be to go when you have proper time to enjoy the full experience and try not to rush it — enjoy the free chips! ”
“ El Patroncito in DTLA is a real find. Every time I come here, the food is consistently delicious and made with care. The breakfast burrito is huge, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The chicken milanesa is golden and crispy, served with rice and beans that taste just like home cooking. Comfort food at its best. I also had the chilaquiles incredible. soaked in just the right amount of sauce, topped with eggs and crema. It’s a full-on flavor bomb and definitely one of the best versions I’ve had in LA. The staff here are the heart of the place the waitresses are so kind and welcoming, it really makes the experience special. I’m seriously looking forward to when they get their beer and wine license for a glass of rose on the patio with chilaquiles. Authentic, delicious, and full of warmth. Highly recommend. ”
“ The Mog Champ sends his regards. Nearby authentic Mexican restaurant after a long day at the nearby Anime Expo! We were able to get a table for two quite easily at 7. They served us quickly and friendly. We ordered the wet burrito, street tacos and chicken burrito. The street tacos were delicious! A little drier than I expected however it was still fulfilling! The wait was a bit long but I had a drink ordered which kept me company with the complimentary chips. The waitress was very joyful and even cracked some jokes! Dinner was amazing, thanks El Patroncito! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ ”
